Generally it includes most long-lasting effects of teen pregnancy involve the emotional stress giving birth to baby or future planning. The potentially lengthy hospital stay and increased risk of health problems for these babies leads to more stress on the teen mother.

Teenage pregnancy gets very little prenatal care which is due to fear of telling others about the pregnancy. Lack of dietary counseling (usually include information about healthier eating and drinking habits) is another reason because the body of a teen is still growing and she will need more nutritional support to meet both her needs and similarly baby needs.
